Innovation and Advanced Analytics – A TCS Perspective

17 April 2015

Led by Global CTO K Ananth Krishnan, a high level delegation from Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) visited UTS: AAi and met with Prof Ian Burnett, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology in early April to learn more about UTS’s recent research capability development. The visit included discussions with senior Faculty executives, and a tour of the latest faculty facilities for teaching and learning, research and industry engagement.

Mr Krishnan presented a well-received seminar on Innovation and Advanced Analytics, highlighting how the consumer is driving changes in the digitalisation of industry and society as Data continues to be a key enabler of value, from the deployment of standard BI tools in the past to the current integration of external and internal intelligence for helping individuals, organisations and communities to make better informed decisions. He also gave an update on the latest development in TCS Research & Innovation in Software, System, Platform and Domain in the areas of AI & Robotics, Mobility & Pervasive Computing, Cloud, Social Media and Big Data Analytics.

TCS is interested in exploring its alliances with Australian academic and research communities, built on its successful CoInnovation Network model. Mr Krishnan was excited to learn of the UTS Key Technology Partnership with the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, as TCS already works closely with the Institute. He is interested to see the investment UTS has made in building its engineering and technology facilities, including the Data Arena, and is keen to explore strategic collaboration opportunities with UTS.
