A piece of equipment that its designer says will bridge the gap between forklifts and conveyor belts – keeping workers safe and costs down – has won this year's UTS 3P business plan competition.

A dolly is a mobile platform used for moving heavy loads. Industrial design student Karl Vaupel came up with his own innovation on the traditional model after he and a group of friends spent time in China earlier this year looking at ways to make a timber mill more efficient.
