Chapter Founder, Co-Chair, and AAi Director Professor Longbing Cao said the endorsement reflects AAi’s thought leadership, as well as the region’s track record in generating cutting edge research and solutions in the data science and Big Data space.
“Securing an Australia and New Zealand Chapter of the ACM SIGKDD is a top honour for AAi and indeed the region as it reflects the quality and impact of our knowledge discovery and data mining research, education and industrial application activities,” Professor Cao said.
“Importantly, it is a formal mechanism through which we can continue to improve the quality and impact of our activities by sharing big data and data science innovations, education and services with each other and with our global ACM colleagues,” he said.
The Chapter involves both senior and junior representatives from academia, industry and government. It will provide education and networking opportunities for researchers, research students, and industry practitioners.
