Veronica Pike Prize

This award was established in 1988 by the Women Lawyers' Association of New South Wales Incorporated in recognition of the career of Veronica Pike and her services to the profession.

Women Lawyers' Association of NSW Incorporated (WLANSW) is the peak body representing women lawyers in NSW. WLANSW has been committed to improving the status and working conditions of women lawyers since 1952. Our members include solicitors, barristers, judicial officers, academics, corporate counsel, lawyers and law students. WLANSW is proactive in liaising with Government and promoting law reform, particularly in relation to issues affecting women and children, and our input is often sought by legislative and Government bodies, and the media. WLANSW offers a range of events and forums.

The Recipient must:

• be enrolled in a UTS award course;
• be female; and
• receive a result in subject 70109 Evidence in the academic year for which the prize is being awarded.

The prize will be awarded to the best performing female student in subject 70109 Evidence.

In the event that two or more eligible students have the same highest final mark, the following criteria will be considered:

• Performance in subject 70109 Evidence of formal assessment that demonstrates mastery of and engagement in the subject;
• Whether the student has previously attempted subject 70109 Evidence;
• Overall academic performance in the student's award course, including GPA, whether the student has failed other subjects, received academic cautions or had a finding of misconduct against them.
