Toshiba Nathan Godby Engineering Scholarship

The Toshiba Nathan Godby Engineering Scholarship was created to increase and broaden the pool of engineering and technology talent and provide UTS students an opportunity to gain industry experience at Toshiba International Corporation Pty Ltd. The scholarship was created to honour Nathan Godby, an UTS graduate, and late Toshiba employee, who had a passion for mechanical engineering.

To be eligible for the Scholarship, an applicants must:

• Be Australian or New Zealand citizens, or the holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa; and
• Be enrolled in the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Diploma in Industry Practice course; and majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Electronic Engineering; and
• Have achieved a minimum Credit Average (WAM 65 or above); and
• Be enrolled in or have successfully completed Professional Practice Review 1; and
• Have not completed Professional Experience 2; and
• All candidates must apply using the UTS online Scholarship Application form; and
• Be available to attend an interview in person (this may be face-to-face or online).

As demonstrated in the Scholarship application and interview: 

• Academic merit (WAM);
• Motivation to succeed in their studies and an Engineering career;
• Initiative to seek opportunities to continually advance their professional and personal lives;
• Interest in the power generation industry;
• Relevant technical expertise with an understanding of soft skills and teamworking behaviours.
