Overview
The aim of the Herbert B Harvey-Randev Memorial Prize is to encourage excellence in the Chemistry major and is awarded to the Science student who demonstrates the largest academic improvement in selected chemistry major subjects.
Who is eligible
To be eligible for the Prize, the applicant must:
- Be enrolled in a Science degree course - Chemistry major, and
- Have completed all four subjects in the year the award is made
- 65202 Organic Chemistry 1;
- 65508 Organic Chemistry 2;
- 65306 Analytical Chemistry 1;
- 65409 Analytical Chemistry 2.

Selection process
- The Prize will be awarded to the student who, in the year for which the award is made, has obtained the largest improved difference in Weighted Average Mark (WAM) between the chemistry major
subjects:- 65202 Organic Chemistry 1, 65306 Analytical Chemistry 1; and
- 65508 Organic Chemistry 2, 65409 Analytical Chemistry 2.
- Where two (2) or more students have achieved the same WAM, the student (1) with the highest overall Grade Point Average (GPA) in the course will be awarded the Prize.
