Thales Senior Cooperative Scholarship

The Thales Senior Scholarship Cooperative Scholarship was created to increase and broaden the pool of engineering and technology talent, and provide UTS students with the opportunity to undertake a placement at Thales Australia through the different business units, which may include but not be limited to Avionics, Underwater Systems, and Ground Transportation Systems.

To be eligible for the Scholarship, an applicant must meet all of the following criteria: 

• Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or the holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa; and
• Be enrolled full-time in one of the following UTS undergraduate degrees [1] and relevant majors:
  • Bachelor of Computing Science (non-Industry Degree Academy mode)
  • Bachelor of Computing Science (Honours);
  • Bachelor of Games Development;
  • Bachelor of Information Technology, or Bachelor of Information Technology combined degrees
  • Bachelor of Information Technology Diploma in Industry Practice;
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Diploma in Industry Practice, majoring in Data Science, Electronic, Electrical, Electrical and Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronic, Mechanical and Mechatronic or Software Engineering; and
• Have completed or will have completed a minimum of 96CPs in the course prior to internship commencement; and  
• Have not completed Professional Experience 1 or Professional Experience 2; and
• Have achieved a minimum of Credit Average (WAM 65 or above); and
• All candidates must apply using the UTS online Scholarships Application form to be eligible; and
• All candidates must be available to attend an interview in person (Online or face-to-face); and
• Be available to start a placement in either Autumn or Spring for the year the scholarship is awarded, or as otherwise agreed. 

[1 ] Students enrolled in degree courses without Diploma in Industry Practice must enrol in the C20056 Diploma in Industry Practice to be eligible for the scholarship.

As demonstrated in the Scholarship application and interview:

• Academic merit (WAM)
• Motivation to succeed in the enrolled course at UTS
• Demonstrated interest in the Engineering and Information Technology Industries
• Demonstrated technical and soft skills and teamworking behaviours
• Demonstrated understanding and interest in Thales and its work and core functions.
