Overview

This prize was established in 2013 to commemorate the contribution of the late Professor Michael Dawson, who was a member of staff from 1991 and the Head of School for Chemistry and Forensic Science. It is awarded to the student who has demonstrated the most outstanding practical skills in the subjects 65545 Forensic Toxicology.

Who is eligible

The Recipient must:

  • be enrolled as a student in a Bachelor of Forensic Science degree course in the year for which the award is made; and
  • receive a result in the subject 65545 Forensic Toxicology in the year for which the award is made and not have had any prior results in this subject

Selection process

Selection Criteria, in Priority Order:

  • The highest weighted average mark for the subject 65545 Forensic Toxicology and.
  • In the event that two or more eligible students have the same highest final mark, the following criteria will be considered:
    • The highest aggregated mark for the practical component in the subject 65545 Forensic Toxicology .
    • Performance in subject 65545 Forensic Toxicology outside of formal assessment that demonstrates mastery of and engagement in the subject;
    • Overall academic performance in the student's award course, including GPA, whether the student has failed other subjects, received academic cautions or had a finding of misconduct made against them.
