Canon Medical Systems – UTS Engineering Scholarship

The Canon Medical Systems- UTS Engineering Scholarship aims to support applicants who are enrolled in an eligible FEIT Engineering course and have an interest in Canon’s diagnostic imaging equipment such as ultrasound, CT, X-Ray R&F, X Ray- Angiography/Cardiology and MRI.

In order to be eligible applicants must:

• Be an Australian citizen; and
• Enrolled in the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), Diploma in Industry Practice course, or combined Engineering courses with Diploma in Industry Practice, majoring in Biomedical, Electrical, Electrical and Electronic, or Mechatronic; and
• Have completed or will have completed a minimum of 96CPs in the course prior to internship commencement; and
• Have not completed Professional Experience 1 or Professional Experience 2; and
• Have achieved a minimum Credit Average (WAM 65+); and
• Have their own vehicle or access to a vehicle which can provide safe transport for the scholar to sites up to 4 hours from the Canon HQ in Sydney.
• All candidates must apply for this Scholarship using the online UTS Scholarship application form; and
• All candidates must be available to attend an interview in person (this may be face-to-face or online); and
• Be available to start a placement in either Autumn or Spring session for the year the scholarship is awarded. 

• As demonstrated in the application and interview: 
  Academic merit (WAM);
• Motivation to succeed in the enrolled UTS Engineering course;
• Demonstrated interest in Canon’s Diagnostic Equipment and initiative in extra- curricular and non- academic activities;
• Demonstrated interest and aptitude for mechanical, electrical and electronic engineering; 
• Be interested in hands-on work;

Where possible, preference will be given to senior students.
