We are thrilled to announce UTS Business School Professor and Living Lab Northern Rivers Academic Director Elizabeth Mossop as a featured speaker for Powerhouse's Sydney Design Week 2025 'Porous Cities' event.

On Wednesday 24 September at Parramatta Town Hall, Elizabeth — alongside Landprocess and Porous City Network founder Kotchakorn Voraakhom; Sydney Water's Phillip Birtles; and CHROFI's John Choi — will discuss and explore major urban projects responding to flooding in New Orleans, Bangkok and Sydney.

Flooding, rising sea levels and subsiding land are some of the most pressing consequences of climate change affecting cities in our region. Solutions for these complex issues require collaborative, cross-disciplinary and cultural strategies that help cities adapt to these changes. Arts centres, canal gardens and water-collecting parks feature in this conversation on architecture and landscape design for delta and flood-prone cities.
