Whether you’re looking for a tutor, conversation buddy, or industry professional to answer career-related questions, UTS offers a number of mentoring and networking programs to help you make meaningful connections. Get involved in our vibrant community of staff, students, volunteers and industry partners and make the most of your time at UTS.
HELPS Buddy Program
Our HELPS Buddy Program matches international students with students, staff and local community volunteers for conversation practice. For international students, it’s a great way to improve your listening, pronunciation and fluency in an informal, Australian way. For volunteers—make friends, develop your communication skills and learn about other cultures and languages while you help your buddy connect through conversation.
Professional Mentoring Program
Unsure of what your career options are? Need advice about how to get your foot in the door of a particular industry? The Professional Mentoring Program is an online community designed to connect UTS students with alumni and industry partners for flash mentoring experiences. The informal nature of the community allows mentees to find mentors based on similar interests, aspirations and affiliations. No awkward introductions. No long-term commitment. Join today and see where your degree could take you.
Transition and Academic Support Program (TASP)
The Transition and Academic Support Program is available to students who entered UTS via the Schools’ Recommendation Scheme (SRS), UTS Humanitarian Access or as a care-leaver (for example, foster care, residential care, kinship care, being a ward of the state). At UTS, we offer a range of support services for students to help them in their first year of study including Learning Support Appointments and an opt-in tutoring and mentoring program in your first year.
