Peter is currently a member of UTS Council and a Non-Executive Director at Campbell Page. Past roles include; Finance Director of Kimberly Clark South East Asia and Trustee Director at First Super. Peter’s areas of expertise include strategy, fast moving consumer goods, finance and economics.
Mark is a Chief Technology Officer at The Australian Literacy & Numeracy Foundation and a founder of Digital, Innovation and Coaching at Seed Collective. Also, he was an Executive Director at Commonwealth Bank where he leads the Markets Digital Office team which is the single point of co-ordination for all new Digital, Analytics and Innovation ideas in CBA’s Global Markets division. The team uses Design Thinking, Lean UX , Business Model Canvas and Agile practices to help design and deliver transformative new experiences for staff and clients alike. Mark has 25+ years of experience in the Financial Services and a proven track record of delivering innovative business solutions and products in five different countries. Before joining CBA 10 years ago Mark worked as independent IT consultant in a wide variety roles covering the full life-cycle of product strategy, design and delivery.
Melissa is an Executive Manager at CBA where she is focusing on business optimisation and implementation activities across the Wealth Management business. A transformation specialist with over 20 years financial services experience. A certified lean six sigma black belt who specialises in mobilising and leading programs of work to solve complex business problems. Melissa has also led large operational businesses across superannuation, life insurance, investments and advice processes. Working within some of largest financial institutions in Australia, she has passion for innovation and helping people succeed.
Max has extensive experience in developing digital strategy and innovation pipelines for large enterprises. Having spent several years building exciting products and innovating in financial services, Max is now working in emerging technology consulting, with the focus on Blockchain and enterprise use cases for distributed ledger technologies. Max has a PhD in Business Information Systems from the University of Sydney, where he has also lectured Business Strategy and Innovation to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Ben completed a PhD in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Technology Sydney. Working several years in industry and startups as a software developer, consultant, bio-statistician and IT manager. He co-directs the Innovation and Enterprise Research Laboratory at the University of Technology Sydney where he is involved in building and studying intelligent and socially aware robot-systems and advance fundamental research in Artificial Intelligence, Knowledge Representation and disruptive technologies. Currently, Ben conducts research in social robotics, teaches entrepreneurship and enterprise software development, and provides consulting in software systems development and innovation.
Helen Spiropoulos completed a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and a Bachelor of Business with First Class Honours at UTS, for which she received the University Medal. During her studies she completed two internships at Deloitte in Auditing and Consulting (strategy and operations). In 2014 Helen completed her PhD in Accounting which examined executive compensation and firm performance within the US setting, for which she received The Chancellor's List Award at UTS and the Best Paper Award at the JCAE Conference 2016. Since then Helen has researched and published in a number of areas including Gender diversity, Executive Compensation, Corporate Governance, Mergers and Acquisitions, and charities. To date Helen has successfully supervised three PhD students and ten honours students to completion.
Emma Petroulas is a serial entrepreneur, academic and chartered accountant. Emma has worked for KPMG, UTS and now she is with the Chartered Accountants. Her experience in growing successful businesses (Nudge & Itchy Baby) makes her an ideal mentor to students as they work towards building their own small businesses.
