A future-focused campus

Our vibrant campus is next door to Central Station and part of a precinct that's home to the ABC, the Powerhouse Museum, TAFE Ultimo, the International Convention Centre (ICC), Darling Harbour and Chinatown.

Our campus design reflects our commitment to future-focused learning, high-impact research, and effective partnerships with industry and community.

Over the past decade, our campus has been transformed by our City Campus Master Plan to support excellence in teaching and research. The $1 billion-plus investment has delivered iconic new buildings – including the Frank Gehry-designed Dr Chau Chak Wing Building – and state-of-the-art facilities that give UTS staff, students and researchers access to cutting-edge technologies as they develop the solutions to the challenges of tomorrow.

While our building exteriors are distinctive, their interiors have all been designed to support the hands-on, practice-oriented approach to teaching and research that UTS is known for. The vision for the campus transformation was developed in tandem with the award-winning learning.futures initiative, which aligns future-focused curriculum with informed technology use.

A sustainable campus

Our campus is also a physical reflection of our sustainability goals. Our newest buildings have all achieved five- or six-star Green Star Certified ratings, with sustainable design and engineering initiatives a prominent component of their design.

Across our campus, innovative initiatives are reducing our electricity consumption,  potable water use and waste to landfill. Our facilities support our students and staff to enhance their own sustainable practices through recycling, reducing single-use plastics and using sustainable transport.

A future-focused campus

Over our 30 years, UTS has thrived and grown into a leading public university of technology

Our vibrant city campus is located in Sydney’s innovation heartland, on the southern edge of the CBD

Our decade-long Campus Master Plan has delivered iconic new buildings and a world-class campus with sustainability at its heart

A campus without walls, designed to be porous, to support knowledge exchange and collaboration.

Our campus now stretches to Sydney’s premier sporting precinct at Moore Park and the Botany industrial hub near Sydney Airport

Our connected campus is open to industry partners and the community

And gives UTS students, staff and partners access to cutting-edge facilities and technologies, as they develop the solutions to the challenges of tomorrow

Our learning, teaching and research are constantly evolving as our campus continues to transform, ensuring we are ready to meet the future in every way

UTS continues to invest in and transform our campus, to support our work as a leading public university of technology.  We are developing work and study spaces to accommodate future education and research needs, as well as future growth.

Our investment in specialist facilities is providing new opportunities for high-impact research and industry partnerships. By reimagining and evolving our physical spaces, we're fundamentally changing the way we deliver teaching, learning and research.

Our campus is open to industry partners and the community, who are welcome to visit at any time.
