Law Equity Scholarships

Student Grace Stals:
the law Equity scholarship was really 
transformative in my ability to study
law at UTS I just cannot thank the
donors enough from the bottom of my
heart I truly wouldn't have been able to
transcend the social and class barriers
that I faced as someone who doesn't have
a significant amount of family support
myself it certainly made the world a
difference to my life trajectory as a
human being but also my career
trajectory as a young lawyer so I can't
thank them enough
Professor Anita Stuhmcke:
the UTS law Equity scholarship is
something that benefits students who may
not otherwise be able to have access to
study law and often it's the diversity
that these students bring that's going
to enrich both the students that are
around them who study law and eventually
also the profession that they go into
whether that be the legal profession or
any other 
Student Fatma Alameddine:
being awarded the scholarship
was much more instrumental Beyond being
able to access technology and resources
it really helped shape the direction of
my career and also helped shape the
direction of where I want to make an
impact moving forward being the
recipient of the scholarship really
changed my life for the better and it
helped shape my approach to law beyond
the transactional being able to help
ordinary Australians I want to be an
instrument through which disadvantaged
people can be inspired that's really the
direction I want to move forward in and
the scholarship itself was what inspired
me to move forward with that 
 
Student Grace Stals:
I was really blessed to be um supported by a
volunteer solicit and that support
really allowed me to have housing and it
allowed me to finish um my studies to go
on to University so I think seeing the
transformative aspects of the law really
locked that into something I wanted to
be a part of   
Professor Anita Stuhmcke:
I for one wouldn't have
been at University but for the fact that
I had assistance I was first in family
uh I had to move to come to Sydney and
it was financially so difficult and I
think a scholarship like this can be
just a game Cher education changes
everything and if you can achieve a law
degree it's something that you can give
back to your community with it's a
privilege it puts us in a position of
leadership for our communities and it's
just so valuable 
 
Student Fatma Alameddine:
I would just like to
express my gratitude to the donors this
scholarship has meant more than I can
express more than they can imagine it's
really reshaped the trajectory of not
only my education but my career it's had
far-reaching implications Beyond just
myself but for my family for the
direction my sisters and siblings are
taking so thank you truly from the
bottom of my heart for everything that
you've done and everything that you
continue to do 
Professor Anita Stuhmcke:
as a donor it makes me
feel very proud to be in the position
where I'm able to give back even just a
little bit of what it is that I myself
have the privilege to experience that
idea of giving up something of yourself
in your own time to commit and further
the community at your own student
body or wider than that is something I'm
very proud of it's so fundamental that
Equity scholarships are provided to our
law students we're very grateful to
those of you who are able to do this and
look forward to making contact with many
more who might be willing to do so

um even though you might not see it
immediately the incremental accumulative
benefits the scholarship has over a
person's life really make a difference
