The UTS campus is located at the southern gateway to Sydney's Central Business District. You'll find our main faculty and administrative buildings clustered within three adjacent yet distinct locations.

UTS campus from Broadway

Broadway: The heart of the campus, this is the location of faculty buildings for Science, Health, Arts and Social Sciences, Engineering and IT, and Design, Architecture and Building. Our neighbours in this growing education, digital and creative hub include the ABC and the Central Park complex, home to the world’s tallest vertical garden, while Central Station is just a five-minute walk. If you need a landmark, it would be the 120m-high 'Brutalist' UTS Tower with its UTS ‘sky signage’ that lights up the night sky. Our ‘open campus’ means our inner hub is open to anyone who'd like to visit.

Dr Chau Chak Wing Building and Haymarket precinct

Haymarket: Past and future collide at Haymarket, named after its location in Sydney’s old market district adjacent to Sydney's Chinatown. Old market buildings now accommodate student spaces, classrooms, support services and specialist units. Nearby, future business leaders study in a contemporary architectural icon – the Frank Gehry-designed Dr Chau Chak Wing Building. Next door, Building 15 is a hub for innovation, accommodating the UTS Animal Logic Academy and UTS Startups. A short walk north along The Goods Line, two large Powerhouse Museum theatres house UTS classes. Recently, a revival of Darling Harbour has transformed the area.

Old and new buildings at the UTS Blackfriars precinct

Blackfriars: This peaceful heritage enclave set back from busy Broadway is just a five-minute walk from the UTS Tower. While something of a hidden gem, the neighbourhood is well known to UTS parents with children at the state-of-the-art Blackfriars Children’s Centre, as well as to the research and innovation teams based nearby. Blackfriars' connection with education stretches back to 1884 when a public school opened. In the future, a new Blackfriars industry hub will forge closer connections with various partners, including entrepreneurial and innovative start-ups for which the neighbourhood is renowned.

Specialist off-campus facilities

Specialist UTS facilities can also be found at a number of strategic locations across Sydney.

UTS at Moore Park

Moore Park: Sydney’s premier sporting precinct is home to UTS's sport and exercise programs and the Graduate School of Health’s physio program. A stone’s throw from the Sydney Cricket Ground, UTS's facilities are co-located with Rugby Australia and Australia’s elite national rugby teams. In fact, this arrangement is an Australian-first for university programs embedded within an elite sporting complex. The location allows UTS to cement connections with top sports organisations at Moore Park, developing prime opportunities for UTS students seeking internships and experience in professional sport.

UTS facilities at the Botany precinct

Botany: This industrial hub close to Sydney Airport and major manufacturing facilities is the location for a vast UTS Tech Lab, which houses a range of specialist laboratories operated by the Faculty of Engineering and IT. Incorporating spaces for research, development and testing in a range of fields – including civil engineering, robotics, communications and vehicle systems – the Tech Lab is an incubator for future-focused, world-leading research outcomes and collaborative partnerships between academics, industry and government.

Waiting room at the Kidman Centre, featuring large windows and colourful furniture

Prince of Wales Hospital, Randwick: The Kidman Centre – formerly known as the UTS Health Psychology Unit – is a specialist youth mental health treatment and research unit. Its purpose-built base within the Prince of Wales Hospital precinct co-locates the centre with other health organisations and services, enhancing opportunities for collaboration to improve mental health treatment outcomes. The facility supports psychologists to deliver preventative mental health workshops, and evidence-based treatment and research clinics, including a community clinic open to the general public.
