This subject introduces students to a broader view of a changing banking environment; develops an understanding of financial decision making in banking; and develops decision-making skills in policy formulation and implementation. Topics include: economics of financial institutions; capital adequacy and implications; yield curves and gapping in money markets; liquidity management; asset/liability management; interest rate risk management; foreign exchange risk management; and strategic planning. The subject emphasises the practical aspects of managing a bank today.
