Applying and enrolling

Applying

There are many different types of study you can do at UTS, ranging from short courses to research degrees. Once you know what it is you want to study the next step is applying. The links on this page will lead you to specific information on how to apply for your course.

Undergraduate study

Applications for undergraduate degrees at UTS open twice a year through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) (opens an external site). The applying for undergraduate study page provides information on how to apply for local applicants - Australian citizens and permanent residents.

A small number of undergraduate courses (e.g. Honours degrees and Adult Education courses) need to be applied for directly to UTS. Direct applications open soon after UAC applications and the forms for applying are then available from UTS Student Centres. The forms include the list of courses open for direct application and instructions on how to apply for them.

International students applying for undergraduate study

If you are not an Australian citizen or permanent resident, and are either a temporary resident or you hold a student visa, you must complete the international student application process through UTS International.

The exception is that if you are an international student doing either:

  • Australian Year 12 exams in Australia or offshore,
  • International Baccalaureate exams in Australia, or
  • NCEA Level 3 exams in New Zealand;

then you need to apply for undergraduate study through UAC in the same way as other current school leavers.
