This paper seeks to explore our navigation and use of digital media technology as we move about the globe. Travelling often equates to new and sometimes challenging experiences related to movement, knowledge and communication. Today, these experiences are arguably enhanced by access to portable technologies such as laptops, tablets or smartphones, which facilitate or undermine participation within new cultures, their languages and information sources.
