Professor Michael Eyles has performed and led research and development related to the food industry in a variety of roles throughout his career, including appointments as Chief of Division and Group Executive in CSIRO and Chief Executive of a large joint venture between CSIRO and the Victorian Government. Michael has led or participated in research collaborations with a wide range of companies, industry organisations and government agencies in Australia and overseas. He has contributed to the work of several government policy bodies, such as the National Food Industry Council. He has been elected to positions in several professional organisations, including a term as President of the Australian Institute of Food Science and Technology. Michael also has significant experience leading change management in science-based organisations.
Professor Eyles holds a PhD from the University of Sydney and is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering as well as a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Food Science and Technology. He was awarded a Centenary Medal for contributions to food science and technology.
