Liesel has worked in universities for the last eight years in teaching, research, and research development. After graduating with her PhD in 2015, Liesel began working in research development at a leading interdisciplinary research institute, focusing on the development of strong ARC applications, project management, and post-award administration. In November 2016, Liesel moved to UTS' Research and Innovation Office to take up the role of NHMRC Research Development Manager. Her expertise in research development spans disciplines and funding categories, and she has substantial experience in both pre and post-award grant management and administration.
Liesel's current role involves coordinating and managing the university's response to all NHMRC schemes, as well as supporting academics in their application to other health related funding partners, including the Heart Foundation and the Cancer Institute NSW.
