Kevin is committed to ensuring the benefits of new discoveries, insights and innovations are translated in ways that benefit society and reward the creators.
His work spans policy development at the national and institutional levels through the development of corporate strategies and practices for intellectual property management and utilisation, to generating impact through research translation. Kevin focuses on achieving clear and enduring business partnerships that provide the parties with a fair return on their investments.
After starting his career in a private research company, Kevin became a leader in intellectual property management and commercialisation at one of Australia’s Go8 universities. As a consultant, Kevin subsequently worked on projects for the Australian Government, WIPO, UNESCO, CSIRO, universities in Australia and overseas. He has assisted companies and individuals creating and applying intellectual property as a tool to strengthen, grow and diversify their businesses.
Kevin is a co-author of the Australian Government Intellectual Property Manual and has been a member of the Board of the Association of University Technology Managers and a Trustee of the Licensing Executives Society, Australia and New Zealand.
