Jeff Crabtree is a casual academic, speaker, researcher, film-maker and multi award winning songwriter. He co-authored the book Living With A Creative Mind – an operating handbook for creative people. He is the Managing Director and founder of The Zebra Collective: an online mentoring and training service built on a combination of research and experience into the effective management and leadership of creative practitioners. This service not only delivers the latest ideas generated from on-going research, but also curates exclusive interviews with world class creative practitioners including legendary New York adman George Lois, Independent artist/songwriter Kimbra, multi platinum award winning music producer Charles Fisher (Savage Garden), UK girl band alumnus and Song ATV songwriter Jessica Agombar, veteran songwriters Chris Sester (Jet), and Tim Farriss (INXS) as well as luminary producer Hank Linderman (The Eagles, Joni Mitchell, Robert Lamm).
He is a consultant in the field of creativity and harnessing the creative workforce. Recent clients include: The Sydney Opera House/Australian Institute of Music Masters of Arts Management course, The Australasian Performing Right Association, ANZ Bank, the Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance (MEAA), and The School of Life in Melbourne and Sydney. Jeff and Julie’s keynote: How To Build A World Class Creative Environment at Vivid Sydney 2013 was a featured event that sold out two weeks prior.
He is the course coordinator of Music Business and Professional Practice and is currently working on a PhD investigating the extent and impact of workplace harassment in the music industry.
