Fiona Sanders (PhD., MBA) is Teaching and Learning Manager in the Business School. Previous academic appointments include Senior Lecturer, University of Edinburgh and Senior Teaching Fellow University of Stirling, UK. In 2004 she established Fiona Grossart Consulting, a management consultancy specialising in strategic planning and corporate performance improvement primarily in the public sector. She wound this company up following her relocation to Sydney in 2013. In her role at UTS Fiona is focused on further developing approaches to assessment and assurance of learning in the Business School while assisting academic staff in developing innovating approaches to teaching.
Fiona is a Fellow, Past President and past Chief Examiner of the Institute of Leisure and Amenity Management, UK and is a member of the Professional Development National Task Force of Parks and Leisure Australia. She played a major role in establishing Further and Higher Education qualifications in leisure and chaired several national committees on behalf of the Scottish Qualifications Authority. She served as a member of the UK Leisure Education and Training Panel of the Sector Skills Council for Sport, Recreation and Allied Occupations and was inaugural Chair of the Council's Scottish National Executive.
