Billbergia Construction Innovation in Architecture Prize

The Billbergia Construction Innovation in Architecture Prize is sponsored by Billbergia, an integrated property group operating across all stages of the property life cycle, including: investment; management; acquisition; development management; planning and design; construction; marketing and sales. Billbergia is one of the largest developers delivering key waterfront residential communities in Sydney. The aim of the award is to encourage academic excellence in the Bachelor of Design in Architecture, with an emphasis on the demonstration of innovative approaches to architectural technology, material, structural and construction systems in the subject 11233 Advanced Architectural Construction.

The prize is awarded to the most innovative work undertaken by an individual or team in 11233 Advanced Architectural Construction, in the 3rd year of the Bachelor of Design in Architecture (C10004).

Value and duration

One (1) prize of $1000 will be awarded each calendar year. The award may be awarded to an individual or a student group.

Where the prize is awarded to a student team, the total cash prize of $1,000 will be distributed equally amongst the team members.

Who is eligible?

To be eligible for the prize, a candidate must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be enrolled in the Bachelor of Design in Architecture (C10004) or in the Bachelor of Design in Architecture/Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation (C10325).
  • Have completed 11233 Advanced Architectural Construction in the year for which the award is made and has obtained a minimum distinction overall grade. The student, or students, must not have had any prior results in this subject.

Selection process

The Prize will be awarded to the student or student team demonstrating the most innovation in 11233 Advanced Architectural Construction in the year for which the award is made. This will be determined by the selection committee, and based on the following learning outcomes of the subject to reflect the spirit and values of the prize:

  • demonstration of innovative approaches to architectural technology, material, structural and construction systems
