Overview

The Juniper Networks Prize in I.T. Engineering aims to award the highest achieving student in the subject 31270 Networking Essentials and the highest achieving student in the subject 48730 Network Security. The prizes are in the form of a cash award to assist students with the cost of study.

Who is eligible?

To be eligible for the prize, Recipients must:

  • be enrolled in the Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) including versions with a combined course and/or diploma; with
  • a major in ICT Engineering, Data or Software Engineering; or
  • be enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, including versions with a combined course and/or diploma; and
  • have successfully completed 31270 Networking Essentials or 48730 Network Security1 in either the Autumn or Spring session prior to the prize giving event.

Selection process

- The student with the highest final overall mark awarded in 31270 Networking Essentials in the Autumn and Spring session prior to the prize giving event.

- The student with the highest final overall mark awarded in 48730 Network Security in the Autumn and Spring session prior to the prize giving event.

- In the event that two or more eligible students have the same highest final mark, the following criteria will be considered:

  • Performance in subject 31270 Networking Essentials or 48730 Network Security outside of formal assessment that demonstrates mastery of and engagement in the subject;
  • No previous attempts of subject 31270 Networking Essentials or 48730 Network Security;
  • Overall academic performance in the student’s course, including overall WAM, whether the student has failed other subjects, received academic cautions or had a finding of misconduct against them.
