Overview

Funded by the Commonwealth Government Department of Education and Training and Jumbunna Institute for Indigenous Education and Research, this scholarship is offered to commencing Indigenous Australian students of exceptional research potential to undertake a higher degree by research at UTS. Preference is given to students who are completing a research project that has the potential to benefit Australian Aboriginal people and/or Torres Strait Islanders. The scholarship amounts to $50,000 per annum, and is provided to assist with general living costs.

Who is eligible?

UTS students who are of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent; and
Who have been accepted into a higher degree by research at UTS

Selection process

Academic merit in previous studies; 
Research and other relevant experience of the applicant; 
Research capacity of the applicant; 
Potential for the proposed research project to benefit Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
