UTS Institute for Sustainable Futures was represented at the following events during Stockholm World Water Week.
Convergence of sanitation and climate crises: Disruptive actions and solutions
Sanitation and climate change represent critical crises of our time. Poor progress on sanitation requires a step-change, made harder with climate change. This virtual event shares evidence and practical solutions to disrupt the status quo, unlock climate finance and achieve climate resilient inclusive sanitation services that reduce emissions and increase adaptation.

Seen and unseen stress on water resources in climate-vulnerable countries
Bangladesh is one of the world’s most climate-vulnerable countries. Sea-level rise and groundwater saline intrusion forces coastal populations into cities that struggle to balance urbanisation, economic development, industrialisation and drinking water protection, particularly given increasing weather extremes. This session will explore the challenges, solutions and lessons for Bangladesh and beyond

The Climate Needs Women Innovating for Water, Sanitation and FSM
Innovation is key for the sector to become a meaningful player in climate mitigation and adaptation. At the same time women are underrepresented in innovation leadership and sector decision making, but are disproportionately affected by the climate and water crisis. Linking different disciplines creates opportunity for greater innovation by women.
