Malaysian study tour
Throughout September, UTS: Nursing, Midwifery will host 16 Nurse Educators from Malaysia who will undertake a 3 week professional development program.
Funded by the Training Management Division, Ministry of Health Malaysia, the educators are keen to observe and learn targeted knowledge and skills that can be transferred to local practice. They also will also have the opportunity to experience Australian medical, clinical and university education through:
- Observing contemporary teaching methodologies including those in health care simulation
- Analysing the organisation and components of Australian health care and hospital systems
- Patient care concepts in medical, surgical nursing, mental health, paediatrics, community,
- Experiencing the latest technology used in medical and surgical environments
The program, run through the WHOCC will involve both clinical placements at RPA and a variety of workshops lead by UTS: NMH academics which specifically address learning criteria that will benefit Malaysian communities.
