Thesis: How is identity performed through photographic profile images on social networking sites?
This research employs the paradigm of visual culture studies to focus on the ways that users of Facebook produce and consume photographic profile 'portraits' and identity.

Fiona's ongoing research interests include photo media, new media, photographic language, gender, identity and also social facade. Fiona has worked with photo imaging over the past eighteen years in many diverse fields. She has worked as a medical illustrator in research and also held the position of photographic art director for a number of mainstream magazines. Fiona also exhibited her photo media work until 2006 represented by Multiple Box Gallery in Sydney/Cologne. Fiona has also lectured, tutored and convened courses in areas of media arts and design since 2001 for UNSW and UTS and TAFE NSW.
