Position Available: CHERE Centre Manager
CHERE is a long established research centre with a national and international reputation for excellence and policy engagement in health economics and health services research. The Centre is expected to grow and develop in size, earned income, and activity levels in research, health sector engagement and teaching over the next ten years. This development is an integral part of the UTS Health Futures Strategy.
The Centre Manager will provide managerial support to the Centre Director and senior academic staff in implementing the Centre’s growth and development.
This is a newly created role with responsibility for ensuring the smooth operations of CHERE, including supervising and managing the research support team, supporting the development of new business and research opportunities, coordinating the development of new research and teaching programs, managing our communications strategy and generally promoting the Centre.
The position will ensure compliance with University governance policies and Faculty protocols, and with reporting requirements within the University and externally.
A sample of skills and experience required:
• Demonstrated experience in high-level operational planning within a research or related context
• Experience in applying for project funding and proven ability to manage projects
• The ability to think strategically and devise practical solutions to complex issues
• Sophisticated understanding of financial processes including budgeting and reporting
• Experience in financial planning and budget management
• Successful supervision of staff in administrative and support roles
Base Salary Range: $98,340 to $111,999 (HEW 8)
This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary. Employee benefits include flexible work practices, child care centres, generous parental leave and salary packaging opportunities.
This appointment will be on a full-time basis for a fixed term of 3 years.
