Dr Ronald Shimmon is the research laboratory manager for the School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences (Chemistry and Forensic Science).
Ronald has expertise in the design and synthesis of functional molecules together with experience of the characterisation of the impurities in illicit drug. His projects involve the design and synthesis of new fingerprint reagent and identification of impurities in new design illicit drug. He also has extensive experience in the use of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance and its application to a wide range of scientific disciplines.
Dr Linda Xiao
Professional Officer, Technical Services Research
Dr Linda Xiao is the professional officer for the Centre of Forensic Science. Her expertise in the areas of infrared, raman spectroscopy, GC-MS and fingermark detection has lead to her having an active role in the fingerprint and forensic toxicology research groups. Linda also actively supports the teaching areas of crime scene investigation, criminalistics and physical evidence.
