Back to Hula 2018
Swell for Good and Centre for Business and Social Innovation at UTS Business School welcomes members of the UTS community, kiters and ocean lovers interested in a Social Enterprise project linked to ocean sports to learn more about their collaboration and activities, and connect with the kitesurf community in Sydney.
A lot of kitesurfers are involved in startups, as Richard Branson and Barack Obama will tell you, kitesurfing is the new golf.
This event will showcase our July 2018 trip to Hula, a village in Papua New Guinea, giving you a taste of not only what it’s like to kitesurf in this untouched destination but also the impact of sharing your skills with the local community.
Swellies (Swell for Good members) will share their experiences and you will have the opportunity to share your ideas around Swell for Good engagements such as crowdfunding projects and new destinations.
Professor Emmanuel Josserand and Dr Adam Cohen will introduce the Centre for Business and Social Innovation and outline their collaboration with Swell for Good.
Swell for Good is a social enterprise who believe that we, kitesurfers, can contribute to social projects while we are traveling. The scheme offers a perfect balance between kitesurfing and people connections in stunning destinations. Swelly members can enjoy their favourite sport while leaving a personal footprint thanks to Swell for Good.
The Centre for Business and Social Innovation brings together researchers from multiple fields to provide a unique perspective on innovation that integrates the technical, the economic and the social. CBSI researchers make a real difference through research with impact.
