Kanzhi is a PhD student supported by the University of Technology, Sydney-China Scholarship Council Joint Scholarship. He received Bachelor degree at Honors College from Northwestern Polytechnical University (NWPU), Xi'an, China and completed Master degree in Astronautics also at NWPU. His main research interests lies in object recognition, pose estimation and robotic perception for easier manipulation and interaction.
The research topic he is currently working on is “Active Object Recognition in Cluttered Environment”. This involves with object recognition, pose estimation and path planning. Through controlling the position and orientation of the sensor, the objects are expected to be posed correctly in the environment despite the severe occlusion and similarity.
