Jonathan is a PhD student with a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical & Mechatronic Engineering and a Diploma Practice from UTS (2014) as well as Certifivate IV in Mechanical Engineering Trades. His interest in robotics developed from previous experience as a mechanic and he worked in the transport industry whilst completing his Bachelor degree. He enjoys strategy board games, gothic gorror novels, strong coffee and control theory.
The research topic he is working on is the planning of robotic cleaning operations for submerged bridge pile inspections, based on perceptions of marine growth geometry on the pile surface.
