Review background
What was the scope of the review?
The review focused on the core items used in the SFS, and aspects of how the SFS has been implemented. Implementation ideas that were explored included reducing the number of core items, making the items more learner-focused and introducing formative evaluation to provide an opportunity for the teaching team to review and reflect on teaching practice and student needs during the semester. The Terms of Reference for the review can be found here (Word doc).
How was the review managed?
The UTS Planning and Quality Unit (PQU) project managed the review with support from the Office of the DVC (Education and Students), Institute for Interactive Media and Learning (IML) and a report prepared by an external consultant. A Reference Group comprising academic staff and students representing a range of perspectives on the SFS guided the review during 2014.
