Our 2019 program has now concluded. Thank you to all our industry partners for your involvement.
The UTS Accomplish Award is a year-long program designed to enhance students employability success by helping them identify and articulate their skills, knowledge, and experience in an appropriate and professional way.
Your partnership in the Accomplish Award not only encourages and supports our students, but it is also an opportunity to build brand awareness and meet young UTS talent before your competitors.
Running between May and September, there are a number of ways you can get involved - read on for more details.
Take Part in a Mock Interview
Build brand awareness, help students develop their interview skills, and provide direct feedback with a Mock Interview. These interviews are held one-on-one with students and are a great way to meet young talent!
Attend a Networking Afternoon Tea
Networking Afternoon Teas are a fantastic way to connect with anywhere between 20-60 UTS students. Held from 3:15 pm and 5.00 pm, Networking Afternoon Teas are held throughout the year for our largest student cohorts.
Deliver Mock Assessment Centres
Meet with anywhere between 20-60 enthusiastic UTS students. You are more than welcome to supply the activities for the Centre, or Careers is happy to assist!

UTS Careers, Building 1 (Tower Building), Level 25, 15 Broadway, Ultimo, NSW 2007.
The UTS campus is located very close to Central Station. A map of the university precincts can be found here: http://maps.uts.edu.au/map.cfm
Accomplish sessions are located in Building 1 (UTS Tower). Please select floor 25 before you get in the lift - the screen then tells you which lift to get into.
Due to space restrictions at our central location, we are unable to provide reserved parking and do recommend arriving via taxi or public transport. However, if you are driving, there are two car parks that are convenient to the university, located within easy walking distance to the Broadway Campus.
If you can no longer attend your session please contact us as soon as possible, as we inform students which employers are attending. Please contact us on 02 9514 1471 (M-F 9am-5pm) or email@example.com.
Please let us know if we can assist with any accessibility requirements on 02 9514 1471 (M-F 9am-5pm) or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Mock Interview is an important part of the Accomplish program for this cohort of students, as it will allow students the opportunity to put into practice many of the skills they will have covered in earlier workshops.
Students may be local or international and are undergraduates who have completed one year of study or postgraduate.
On the day
Due to the tight scheduling on the day, please arrive 15 minutes prior to your first interview to allow us time to give you a short briefing and show you to your interview room.
The interview room will be set up with:
- a copy of the interview questions (emailed prior to interview) and the feedback forms
- a pen and paper for note taking
You will be provided with the student's name and degree they’re studying at the beginning of their timeslot on their interview feedback sheet. Please note that you will not receive individual resumes for each student.
Each interview will run for 20 minutes: 15 minutes of interview Q&A, plus 5 minutes for you to provide feedback to the student immediately after the interview.
View the interview schedule.
Interview questions & feedback
The feedback is perhaps the most important and useful part of this experience for the students.
We will provide a student feedback form, so you are able to jot down any of the key points you make verbally, to help the student recall what you discussed. You can give this form to the student when they leave.
We anticipate you’ll have time to ask each student between 3-5 questions, depending on the length of their responses and any follow-up questions you may want to ask.
We suggest that you start the interview with one introductory question and then move onto the behavioural based questions.
Please ensure that you stick to the allocated time for each student – please see the interview schedule times. We will let you know when the next student has arrived.
What to bring
You may wish to bring business cards to share with the students you meet. Due to space limitations, we request that you do not bring banners.
Networking Afternoon Tea
This event allows students the opportunity to practice their networking skills and meet professionals in their area of interest to expand their network. Each employer group will have 1 -2 minutes to introduce themselves, followed by networking and afternoon tea.
Introductions should include:
- The name and position titles of your group
- A short brief on your organisation
- 1 hot networking tip
What can you bring?
You are not required to bring anything, however, you are welcome to bring marketing collateral for students and business cards to share with students you meet.
Due to space limitations, we request that you do not bring banners.
Mock Assessment Centre
The Mock Assessment Centre is an elective workshop within our Accomplish Award program. The purpose of this session is to create an assessment centre simulation where external facilitators run three activities under assessment conditions, and then provide feedback.
Your role as facilitator
- Introduce yourself, company and role
- Run three activities under test conditions (activities should assess soft skills such as teamwork, problem solving and communication).
- Provide feedback to the group based on your observations.
- Conclude with your takeaway tips for assessment centre success.
- You are able to bring up to three colleagues to co-facilitate – please ensure all facilitators from your group view video.
- An Accomplish team member will be present in the room during your session for assistance.
- You may wish to bring business cards to share with the students you meet.
You have the option to run the session with your own activities, or to use the Accomplish Award activities. If you prefer to use your own material, we request that you send us your presentation, one month prior to your scheduled session. Please let us know if you would like assistance with printing.
