About the UTS Staff Pride Network
All LGBTIQA+ identified UTS staff members can join the social UTS Staff Pride Network. Group membership is confidential and can only be accessed by the convener of this group.
Staff Pride Monthly get-together
The UTS Staff Pride Network hosts a monthly get-together to provide staff with the opportunity to connect and socialise with fellow LGBTIQA+ staff members. The Network usually meets at 5pm on the last Thursday of every month upstairs at The Loft (Building 9, 15 Broadway, Ultimo).
In light of the COVID-19 situation, social meetups are currently cancelled until further notice. Please join the network (email firstname.lastname@example.org) to keep up to date with future events.

Parents at UTS
As part of UTS’s ongoing commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, the University offers a range of initiatives to support staff and students who are parents.
As part of our commitment to creating a sustainable and socially just society, UTS runs a series of training programs for our staff to increase awareness and build leadership capacity.
Breaking the Binary
'Breaking the Binary: gender, sexuality and body diversity' aims to unpack physical sex, gender identity, gender expression and sexuality and explore the gender binary and gender diversity. The session also covers the challenges and issues faced by the LGBTIQ+ community and strategies to challenge homophobia, transphobia and heteronormativity. Any UTS staff member can enroll in 'Breaking the Binary'.
Please note, we also offer tailored ‘Breaking the Binary’ sessions for schools or units (if 5–20 staff members from a unit are interested). Tailored ‘Breaking the Binary’ session allow for more specific content to be discussed and for an active team of allies to get together.
UTS Ally training
The UTS Ally Program sets out to develop a visible network of empathetic people who are allies of students and staff identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex or queer - those belonging to a sexual or gender minority. The UTS Ally Program creates awareness of issues related to gender, sexuality and body diversity through supporting the rights of all students and staff and in celebrating an inclusive, diverse and safe university community based on respect and dignity. Attending this session will qualify you as a UTS Ally.
