At UTS we value diversity and believe that everyone should have access to education.
Visit the U@Uni Academy website for information on our unique two-year program for senior high school students to build and support aspiration.
Our Widening Participation Strategy (WPS) provides a whole-of-university approach to increase the number of students from underrepresented equity groups accessing and completing university study, in particular students from low socioeconomic status (low SES) backgrounds and Indigenous students. The WPS is overseen and implemented by the Centre for Social Justice and Inclusion.
We recognise that raising aspiration and enrolling students from disadvantaged backgrounds into university is just the first step. Students must also be supported in their transition to university.
Once here, the strategy equips students for success throughout their degrees and ultimately graduation. It addresses all areas of the student life cycle through a range of programs and activities under the following themes:
- Building Educational Aspiration and Attainment
- Widening Access
- Transition, Retention and Success
- Inclusive Community
- Completion and Employability
