Employer of choice for gender equality
UTS is a Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) employer of choice.
This citation recognises that UTS is actively committed to achieving gender equality in the workplace. The UTS WGEA Public Report for 2018 was submitted to the Agency in June 2018.
As part of setting the benchmark in best practice, the Agency recognised UTS's Research Equity Initiative as a leader in supporting academics and researchers with carer responsibilities and promoting gender equity in research.
After a two year, whole of University effort, UTS has submitted its application for an Athena SWAN Bronze Award in March 2018. Results of this application will be made public in December 2018.
Participating in the Athena SWAN process has enabled UTS to build upon our ongoing work to further promote gender equity for inclusive teaching and learning culture. As part of a cohort of 40 Universities and research institutions, we’re pleased to be part of a whole of sector pilot to improve gender equity and diversity in STEMM research, teaching and workforce culture.
