FAQs
Why are tickets divided into categories/roles?
It’s really important that we fill the room with a balance of skillsets and interests so you can start to build your dream team. We know that your time is valuable, so these categories will make it easier to find the type of co-founder you need on the night.
HIPSTERS are designers, and savvy crafters of the smoothest customer experiences! If you’re a HIPSTER, you’re usually on the ball with making sure what you’re creating is better designed, and better experienced, than anything out there.
HACKERS are our coding and programming MVPs! If you’re a HACKER you’re the team member who turns ideas and initiatives into reality, to MAKE the tech solutions users need.
HUSTLERS are the business minds, networkers and visionaries! If you’re a HUSTLER, you’re the one who’s setting things in motion, you’ve got the business savvy to secure paying users to keep the business viable and maintaining the health of the business from the inside out.
Do I need any experience?
While we're generally looking for Hipsters, Hackers and Hustlers this event is OPEN for UTS students of ALL skill/experience levels with a keen interest in making business ideas a reality! Simply choose a ticket type that most suits your interests.
Do I need to come with a business idea?
Not at all. If you have an idea, you can find a co-founder/s to work on that idea. If you don’t yet have an idea, you can team up with other students and create your idea together, or you can join up with a student who already has a business idea.
If you would like to come prepared with some viable business ideas, make sure you register for the Find Your Idea event.
Is this event only for UTS Students?
No! To be eligible to join UTS Startups, only one founder needs to be a current UTS student or graduate in the last 12 months. That means that entrepreneurs outside of the UTS community can team up with a current student or recent graduate and have access to all of the resources and benefits of UTS Startups.
Where is UTS Startups located?
The UTS Startups Event Space is located in Building 15 at 622 Harris St, Ultimo. Building 15 is across from UTS Business School (Building 8). You can enter via the sliding doors on Harris St (accessible entrance), or the loading dock door on Omnibus Lane (weather permitting).
