Corporate Travel Insurance
The Travel Insurance Policy provides cover to UTS employees, directors and students on approved travel. The cover includes domestic and international travel. The traveller is automatically covered upon receiving written approval from their supervisors.
Travel insurance cover is available for maximum 365 days from the date of travel. If your trip is likely to go over 365 days please contact Insurance.
Certificate of currency
While insurance coverage is automatic upon approval, a personalised travel insurance certificate may be requested for organising visas or for making a claim.

Private Travel Insurance
For staff who wish to travel before or after their approved corporate travel or want to take travelling for pure leisure private travel insurance can be purchased from any of the below insurers.
UTS's corporate travel insurance is with ACE Insurance Ltd (Chubb). Staff may choose to buy their private travel insurance from ACE Insurance Ltd (Chubb) for the convenience of keeping the dual purpose business/private travel insurance with the same provider.
You may choose to buy private travel insurance from any other insurer of your choice. Some of the other insurers are;
It is important to note that in respect of the links above:

- UTS will not be a party to any insurance contract entered between the traveller and an insurer;

- Travellers are encouraged to seek the best insurance value for their particular circumstances available in the marketplace.
Emergency contact ISOS
The University has engaged the services of International SOS to assist with the ongoing efforts to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all staff and students travelling for UTS business.
ISOS work in conjunction with the University's nominated travel companies to capture all the relevant travel data for UTS travellers. This ensures that in the case of an emergency they can quickly locate and assist our staff and students.

3. Create a profile
A pre-existing medical condition is one which you are already aware and/or have sought medical treatment prior to the Insured Travel, or a side effect of or secondary condition caused by this condition.
If you have a pre-existing condition you will need to seek approval from your treating physician to undertake your proposed Journey. If this approval is given the policy will provide cover for unexpected and unforeseen complications arising from your condition. The policy provides no cover for expenses that are expected or foreseen – including the cost of scheduled check-ups/treatment, maintaining ongoing pharmaceutical treatment, or other planned expenses.
If your treating practitioner recommends against travelling the policy will not provide cover for your pre-existing condition. If you require travel insurance in this circumstance please complete the pre-existing condition form and return it to insurance for insurer review.
Note that the insurer retains the right to:
- Agree to insure, or
- Partially insure, or
- Decline to insure the proposed travel.
Note that all costs associated with the assessment and any additional premium is the responsibility of the Traveller. These costs are not covered by the University.

How to make a claim
All claims, and circumstances which may result in a claim, should be promptly reported via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
To submit a claim online follow the below prompts:
1. Complete online survey by visiting http://uts.csnet.com.au
2. Click on the online Company Registration code icon
3. Enter UTSF99B680BE8 and select Sign In
4. and then click on the submit your claim icon to start the survey
Your claim should be supported by medical evidence, reports and receipts, and copies of your itinerary and authority to travel.
A significant number of minor claims have been lodged recently with our travel insurer.
There is a standard excess of $200 where applicable. Nil excess applies to medical claims.
The excess is borne by the traveller.
Claims for medical expenses are not subject to the $200 deductible

Note: Failure to promptly report a potential claim may prejudice the acceptance of the claim by insurers. All claims must be forwarded by you to UTS Insurer, ACE (Chubb) Insurance.
