Awards and Recognition
2016 - Shopfront was honoured to receive the UTS Vice-Chancellor's Human Rights & Social Justice Award and to be a finalist in both the Australian Financial Review's Higher Education Awards for Community Engagement, and the NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards for Volunteer Management.
2015 - Shopfront takes out second place for the international MacJannet Prize for Global Citizenship.
2014 - National Teaching and Learning Citation awarded to Lisa Anderson (Shopfront) and Natalia Nikolova (Business) for their collaboration in the MBA subject "Management Consulting".
2012 - Commendation: MacJannet Prize for Global Citizenship, as one of the top six exceptional community engagement programs.
2008 - The Malian Foundation Community Partnership Prize, UTS Alumni Awards - Winner - for interdisciplinary team of students working on the Parramatta Female Factory Project, in partnership with Shopfront and the Parramatta Female Factory Precinct Association.
2007 - UTS Alumni Award awarded to Kate Pacey for work on Aboriginal Stone Artefacts.
2005 - OLT Carrick National Teaching Awards - Winner - Provision of Education Services to the Community.
2004 - Australian-American Fulbright for Professor Nyden from Loyola University in Chicago to visit Australia.
2001 - The UTS Shopfront was awarded the UTS Equity and Diversity Award for its practical program to resource disadvantaged community groups and provide UTS graduates with knowledge and experience of socially responsible professional practice.
