Career Management for Scientists: 69500
This subject aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge they need to be successful in their chosen career. They will learn research and understand what employers require of science graduates, while developing the professional skills and behaviours sought by employers that enable graduates to successfully transition into their careers.
Students will be required to research relevant work opportunities, analyse their own capacities in meeting employer requirements, and review their education and training needs for ongoing employment. They will also be able to assess and apply their interpersonal skills while working in a team, and build confidence in their communication and presentation skills.
Career Management for Scientists helps students clarify their career goals, identify their professional capacities and graduate attributes, and successfully articulate these capacities and experiences to employers.
This subject also supports the development of a skills-based e-portfolio for ongoing career management.
