UTS athletes take on the Commonwealth
Triple jumper Emmanuel Fakiye, Rugby Sevens player Ben O’Donnell and swimmer Bradley Woodward have two things in common - they are UTS students and they are competing in the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Three UTS athletes will be taking on the world at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast from 4 - 15 April. Here's how to watch.
Check out triple jumper Emmanuel Fakiye on the track for his heats at 10:30am on Thursday 12 April and final on Saturday 14 April at 3:15pm. Read all about his journey (and why his stomach helped lead him to UTS) on News.
Ben O’Donnell will be in action with the Australian Men’s Rugby Sevens team from Friday 13 April at 5:30pm. The final will be held on Sunday 15 April at 3pm. Ben and two of his teammates (both UTS alumni) spoke with uMag about the challenges and joys of being an athlete and student.
In the pool, backstroker Bradley Woodward will compete in three events. The 100m heats are on Thursday 5 April, with the finals at 9:50pm on Friday 6 April. The 200m heats are Monday 9 April with the final that night at 7:30pm. And finally, the 4x100m relay takes place on Tuesday 10 April, with the final scheduled for 9:30pm.
