The most important thing I’ve learned at university is how to adapt when out of your comfort zone.
I like the multidisciplinary aspect of forensics - I did a biology degree but now also know a lot of basic chemistry applications. I also like that I get to split my time between the office, the lab, the field, and teaching which keeps things interesting. UTS has a really good community culture. No matter what you’re interests are, you will find your tribe. Also, there’s lots of coffee!
The most important thing that I’ve learned so far at university is how to adapt when you’re out of your comfort zone.
People often think you have to get the best grades in order to be successful. My experiences have taught me that if you’re willing to be committed and work hard but also be kind and have fun, that will be worth more in the end.
Outside of UTS, I like to go on weekend adventures. Anything that involves an activity like rock climbing or the beach. In the future, I’m waiting to see what comes my way, but I would like to move overseas for a few years.
