How do the fees work?
Under the Higher Education Relief Package 2020, the federal government is offering discounted Commonwealth Supported fees for a range of short online Higher Education Certificate courses. It’s important to note that these discounted fees apply online until 31 December 2020.
At UTS these fees apply for the designated new online Graduate Certificates. If your study in any of these courses runs into 2021 you will revert to standard Commonwealth Supported fee rates. Eligible students can defer payment of their fees through HECS‑HELP.
See our fees page for more information.

All courses are Graduate Certificates and are comprised of 24 credit points, which is equivalent to full time study over a period of six months. Most Graduate Certificates articulate into Graduate Diplomas or Master degree programs, providing you with the opportunity to continue your learning journey. All courses under this scheme are delivered online only.
What are the admission requirements?
UTS Higher Education Certificates are equivalent to a Graduate Certificate qualification. You can find out more about the admission requirements by clicking the relevant course links on our course page.
Is this scheme open to current UTS students who are studying a Higher Education Certificate course?
This policy was introduced to support workers affected by the economic impact of COVID-19 crisis, and who are looking to upskill or retrain.
Discounted student fees will only be available to students starting one of the UTS Higher Education Certificate courses, therefore this scheme is not open to current UTS students.
Are fee subsidies open for other courses?
Yes, all undergraduate and select postgraduate programs offer Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP). However, the Government’s CSP fee subsidies under this scheme are much greater than existing fee subsidies and only available until 31 December 2020.
How long are the Higher Education Certificate fee subsidies available for?
Fee subsidies are on offer until 31 December 2020.
Are Commonwealth Supported Places available for courses I’ve already enrolled in?
Commonwealth Supported Places are only available for new students. If you are an existing student in one of these programs then you are not eligible to participate.
As an online student, will I still get access to the on campus facilities like the UTS Library?
