Thesis Topic: The synthesis and application of microparticle inhibitors
Supervisors: Associate Professor Mary Bebawy (School of Pharmacy, UTS), Associate Professor Alison Ung (School of Chemistry and Forensic Science, UTS), Dr Frederick Luk (School of Pharmacy, UTS), Dr Tristan Rawling (School of Pharmacy, UTS), Professor Georges Grau (Sydney Medical School, The University of Sydney).
My research focuses on the development of drugs capable of inhibiting the release of cellular membrane vesicles, known as microparticles, from multidrug resistant tumour cells. This research will ideally lead to the discovery of new drug targets and therapeutics that prevent the spread of microparticle-conferred multidrug resistance.
