In order to gain entry to the Master of Pharmacy, applicants who have met GPA requirements and passed the interview stage must complete all prerequisite subjects at the tertiary level prior to the start of the course (end of February each year).
For applicants who have not completed all subjects as part of their undergraduate degree, prerequisites can be completed as short courses, summer/winter school or nonaward units at any recognised tertiary institution (including Open University). Please note, all prerequisite subjects must be assessed and approved by the school. Prior to commencing a subject to fulfil this requirement, please request a pre-assessment by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
One unit of biochemistry is offered as bridging courses as part of the Master of Pharmacy.
UTS Bridging Courses
The UTS Master of Pharmacy includes a bridging course in biochemistry for applicants who:
- need to complete 1 prerequisite unit of biochemistry
- meet the required GPA of credit average
- complete the interview successfully
- accept their formal offer to UTS.
This bridging course is equivalent to 1 unit of biochemistry for prerequisite purposes. Students who undertake the bridging course will commence their Master of Pharmacy degree approximately two weeks prior to the start session (session starts end February). All applicants who are eligible to complete the bridging course will be contacted directly by UTS Pharmacy by email.
La Trobe University (subject to availability) offers an online short course in Anatomy and Physiology (opens to an external site) that is equivalent to 1 unit of Human Physiology for prerequisite purposes.
