Our best and brightest students are passionate about their chosen field. That’s because following your passion is important. But so is getting a job at the end of it all.
Over two-thirds of DAB graduates and more than three-quarters of postgraduates are employed after three months of finishing their degree, according to the latest 2014 Australian Graduate Survey.
Design and architecture on the rise
Our degrees are pathways to growing industry sectors: Design and architecture employment has recorded one of the fastest annual growth rates in recent years. Jobs in the sector are growing at almost double the rate of the general economy. The Department of Employment predicts that occupations within the design and architecture sector will experience a 12% growth from 2013–2018.
The growth of the property and construction industry
The news is even better if you’re studying Construction Project Managment with the survey showing employment rates at an industry-leading 98%. Employment growth in the construction industry has also contined to rise in recent years, posting 2-3% increases according to the 2016 Australian Industry Report.
Meanwhile the property industry is among Australia’s largest with property-related financial, professional and construction services, contributing $182.5 billion to the economy in 2013-2014, 11.5 per cent of GDP.
