Engage with the Planning industry
As a Master of Planning student you will benefit from UTS’ close ties to industry with many of our academics having professional backgrounds and connections. Many of the projects are based on real-world scenarios taught in peer-led, multidisciplinary environments.
Your career in Planning
The Master of Planning enables professionals to change careers due to the multi-disciplinary nature of the learning. Our graduates are in public sector positions, private consulting and property development firms, with the option to pursue careers in areas such as strategic planning and sub regional planning.
Jane Parker: Founder of Cyclehack
“Something that I've found really beneficial is studying with a multidisciplinary group of students. It has given me a great insight into their goals and motivations, which sometimes differ to mine, and I feel much better equipped to work in cross-disciplinary teams in my future career.”
Josh Brydges: Locations and Transportation Planner for GoGet
“My success in landing the role (at GoGet) actually grew out of my major research project for my Masters of Planning, which sought to compare and contrast international examples of car-sharing with the current environment in Sydney.”
